Straight Flute
Emkay manufactures straight fluted taps to various standards like ISO, DIN, etc. These taps are mainly recommended for Cast Iron and SG Iron components. These taps can also be designed for tapping on other components like cast iron, brass, magnesium, bronze, etc.
Spiral Pointed Tap
Emkay Tools specializes in application taps. For through holes, Spiral Point (Gun Nose) Taps with 3–4 thread chamfer are recommended. These taps push chips forward and suit materials like aluminum, stainless steel, general-purpose steel, and forged steel. Left-hand spiral with right-hand cutting is also offered.
Spiral Flute 15° Taps
Emkay manufactures 15° spiral fluted taps to ISO, DIN, and other standards for blind holes in steel with 1000–1300 N/mm² tensile strength. We also offer Powder Metallurgy grade taps for 1300–1600 N/mm² steel, chilled cast iron (400–600 HB), and titanium alloys above 730 N/mm².
Spiral Fluted Tap (35°)
Spiral Fluted Taps are ideal for machine tapping in blind holes, especially in soft materials like aluminum and soft steels that produce long, stringy chips. The spiral flutes create a shear action that pulls chips out of the hole, enabling deeper threading without chip clogging.
Fluteless Tap
Also called Cold Forming or Roll Forming Taps, these taps form threads by displacing material, not cutting. With no flutes or cutting edges, they resemble screws. When fed into a pre-drilled hole, their contoured shape gradually forms the thread profile through cold forming.
